The Minan Rimba people who live in Rejosari Village, Pamenang District, Merangin Regency have participated in the village development planning deliberation activity held on September 19, 2023. Tumenggung Minan, Nggino and female representatives, namely Pelereh and Minah represented eleven families to express their aspirations as local villagers.
KKI Warsi through the Estungkara program facilitated the involvement of Orang Rimba in the Muserembangdes process. Tumenggung Minan proposed a plan to build houses, the plan to build houses had been discussed before but because building houses for eleven families required a large budget, it was not included in the village budget.
The proposal of the Orang Rimba Tumenggung Minan group did not stop there, the Rejosari Village officials proposed the construction of houses from affirmative funds in Merangin Regency. The proposal process is currently still awaiting results and will continue to be pursued. The village is aware that the need for houses for the Tumenggung Minan group is urgent, because so far they have moved around and do not have a fixed place of residence unlike other Orang Rimba in Pamenang District who have been given housing assistance.
The involvement of the Orang Rimba in the RKPDes deliberations was a meaningful experience for both the Orang Rimba and the village officials.
"We are starting to understand the village deliberation process and the village officials also know the needs that we, the residents, want," said one of the Musrembang participants from Orang Rimba.
The participation of the Orang Rimba in deliberation activities is of course still gradual and ongoing along with adaptation among them.
