Sakula Himba Youth and Cultural Empowerment Forum

In the era of globalization marked by rapid social change, the role of youth as agents of change is becoming increasingly important. To answer this challenge, Sakula Himba is present as a platform designed to educate, build character, and empower the younger generation. The goal is to be more sensitive to various social problems, especially at the village level.

The Sakula Himba program has the main objective of fostering awareness and skills among young people, especially at SMAN 1 Jabiren Raya. This program aims to create a young generation that is able to become the main driver in preserving local customs and culture. As well as addressing social issues in the village. Through a series of activities involving students and teachers, Sakula Himba invites students to explore local cultural values. And understand the importance of social inclusion and diversity.

More than just a social inclusion program, Sakula Himba is a place for shared learning about local customs and culture. With a comprehensive approach, this program is committed to keeping our cultural riches relevant amidst the changing times. While strengthening the character and role of more inclusive youth.

The Sakula Himba Guide is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the implementation of this program. With a focus on developing student character to be more sensitive to social issues and the role of youth in preserving local customs and culture.

Coordination with the Principal and related parties ensures that commitment to the implementation of this program is maintained. So that all parties work together to achieve the goals of Sakula Himba. With a holistic approach, Sakula Himba seeks to produce a young generation that not only understands, but is also able to become agents of change.

To realize this goal, Yayasan Betang Borneo Indonesia (YBBI) collaborates with SMAN 1 Jabiren Raya through the P5 Program (Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project) in the Merdeka Curriculum. In this collaboration, YBBI acts as a guest teacher who conveys GEDSI values and knowledge about local customs and culture directly to students.

This collaboration not only has a positive impact on students' understanding of inclusion. But it also facilitates the implementation of the Sakula Himba program in the school environment. With this approach, it is hoped that a young generation will be formed who understand the importance of equality and inclusion. And have a deep appreciation for local culture and customs.

In the implementation of Sakula Himba II, the main focus is directed at educating youth about GEDSI and anti-bullying. This is done through interactive and participatory methods. Involving students in various learning activities is expected to not only increase theoretical understanding, but also encourage the application of these values in everyday life. This activity aims to build a deep understanding of diversity, respect for differences, and the creation of a safe and inclusive school environment.

The learning method in anti-bullying material is not only about delivering information, but also involves interesting interactive activities. Students are invited to participate in games that encourage reflection on the social situations they face in everyday life.

This activity aims to raise awareness of the impact of bullying and the importance of empathy. In addition, students are also given the opportunity to write down their hopes and ideas regarding a school environment free from bullying. As well as discussing how to create a safe and supportive space for all students. Through this method, it is hoped that students will not only understand the theory of anti-bullying, but also be motivated to actively contribute to creating a more positive and inclusive school environment.

The Sakula Himba program also invites traditional leaders to actively participate in the implementation of this program in local communities. The support of the sub-district government is very important to ensure the sustainability of the program. Meanwhile, collaboration with the local government is expected to provide adequate policy support and fund allocation. By involving all parties, it is hoped that the Sakula Himba program can run more effectively, receive broad support, and be able to create a significant impact in society.
