PPSW Jakarta Conducts Program Monitoring

On June 26, 2024, monitoring A comprehensive program was implemented with the aim of monitoring the progress of the program which had been running for six months. Monitoring This aims to evaluate the extent to which the implementation of the program has been in accordance with the plan. Identifying the benefits that have been felt by participants and finding and addressing problems that may arise during the implementation process.

Activity monitoring this time using the focused discussion method (focus group discussion) involving 10 active participants in the program. This discussion provides an opportunity for each participant to share their experiences related to the benefits they feel. Also the obstacles faced and provide an assessment of the six main aspects of the program. The aspects are; increasing women's capacity, strengthening cooperative institutions, developing women's business, participation in decision-making, access to population administration and reproductive health services, and preventing violence against women and child marriage.

The program has provided significant benefits in increasing participants’ awareness and knowledge of gender and disability issues. Participants reported that they now have more respect for each other and understand that men and women have the same rights and responsibilities. The assessment showed that all participants felt the program was beneficial, with no significant problems emerging in its implementation.

Strengthening cooperative institutions is one of the important aspects of this program. Savings and loan activities run by cooperatives greatly help members in saving and borrowing capital for business. Although most participants considered this benefit very good, there were several obstacles. Such as the difficulty of some members in paying loans, as well as challenges in inviting residents to actively participate in cooperatives.

Women's business development is also a major focus of the program. Participants reported that they were able to increase their business capital, streamline their daily business, and even start new businesses such as selling on line. However, they also face problems, such as low purchasing power and quiet marketing. Nevertheless, the benefits of this program are still felt positively by the majority of participants.

One of the successes of the program is the increased participation of women in decision-making. Participants feel more confident to voice their opinions, both at the local and national levels. However, challenges remain, such as the low number of women in leadership positions and limitations in independent decision-making.

The program also succeeded in increasing participants' access to population administration and reproductive health services. Participants reported that they found it easier to take care of important documents such as family cards, ID cards, and birth certificates. However, the long processing time and lack of public understanding are still obstacles that need to be fixed.

In terms of preventing violence against women and child marriage, the program has succeeded in raising participants' awareness of the importance of child protection and handling domestic violence. However, the biggest challenge is the lack of response from the community. Also, many women still do not know where to report if they experience domestic violence.

From the analysis of the relationship with stakeholders, the Estungkara program has been able to create closer relationships between participants and RT, RW, Village Government, and related agencies. However, the relationship with the sub-district is still less than optimal, especially due to absences during important events involving cooperatives.

Overall, the benefits of the Estungkara program are most felt at the personal level, followed by strengthening cooperatives and cadres/managers. The benefits felt by the wider community, especially those who are not yet members of the cooperative, still need to be improved. Especially in access to population administration and campaigns to prevent violence against women and children.

The Estungkara program has shown positive results, but there is still room for improvement and strengthening in several aspects. Especially in increasing community participation and overcoming existing obstacles. Monitoring This is an important step in ensuring that the program continues to move in a better direction. And provides maximum benefits for all parties involved.
