PPSW Jakarta Holds Monitoring Program

PPSW Jakarta is one of the women's institutions in Indonesia, which has consistently developed and assisted women's groups at the base since 1986 until now. Women's empowerment, such as education about child marriage, assertiveness training, gender training, and entrepreneurship training are the main programs at PPSW Jakarta.

Increasing the knowledge, skills and welfare of women at the base, further developing women's collective power and leadership through democratic local institutions, being able to develop women's local institutions so that access and control over resources increases, and strengthening understanding of the concept of gender equality justice at all levels, are the goals What PPSW Jakarta wants to achieve is big.

With this big goal, of course there are many challenges in empowering women to grow and develop. Especially if women live in villages, women often have difficulty accessing the same education, work and economic opportunities as men. This is the main basis for PPSW Jakarta to carry out program monitoring.

Through the Estungkara program, PPSW Jakarta held monitoring activities on June 23 2023 at the Aeropolis building, Tangerang. This monitoring activity was attended by fifteen administrators and members of the Red Lantern KWPS. Fauziah Rindang Khoiruinisa, PPSW Jakarta team was also the facilitator for this event. The aim is to directly monitor the extent to which the Jakarta PPSW program has been implemented and is proceeding as planned. It also becomes a discussion and evaluation space for any difficulties experienced while running the program so that in the future PPSW and KWPS Red Lantern members can carry out each activity even better.

The hope is that empowering women will be an important step in encouraging the role of women so they are able to work, be independent and have a bargaining position. The involvement of women in various fields of life to achieve equal access in all fields is the output that will be produced after carrying out this monitoring activity.

Farida, one of the participants in this monitoring activity, said she was very happy to be able to learn and take part in the activities carried out by PPSW Jakarta. He has gained a lot of knowledge and experience about the basics of cooperatives and gender. "My knowledge has increased, such as the basics of cooperatives, gender, early marriage, and how to save and make loans properly," concluded Farida.
