Acting Regent of Tebo Supports Community Economic Empowerment through the Role of Women in the Talang Mamak Simarantihan Tribe.

The Talang Mamak Tribe is a traditional community whose livelihood depends on forest resources and processes these resources for family and communal consumption. They are also familiar with traditional farming systems with simple farming and small-scale plantations.

Talang Mamak women have an important role in managing their farming. In managing rhizomes, women also have a dominant role, where young plants such as chilies, vegetables, sweet potatoes, bananas and other plants are often found in rhizomes. Seeing the large potential of Talang Mamak women in supporting the family economy, KKI WARSI encouraged the formation of a Women's Farmers Group (KWT) which has 23 members as members of Talang Mamak Simarantihan Suo-suo Village. This farmer group forum is not only to develop agricultural potential through women, but also to be a forum for developing crafts which have become a habit for Talang Mamak women.

Acting The Regent of Tebo, who was accompanied by the Chair of the Tebo PKK and the OPD, during his working visit on August 8 2023 at Talang Mamak Simarantihan, Suo-suo Village, held a dialogue with the women of Talang Mamak.

"We are very happy to be able to visit the Talang Mamak community, there are many women and this must be empowered so that the Talang Mamak Tribe can progress further and experience the benefits of gender-inclusive development in Tebo Regency," said Mrs. Yanti Aspan Istri Acting. Regent as chairman of PKK Tebo.

On the occasion of this visit Acting. The Regent of Tebo together with the Regent, accompanied by KKI WARSI, have provided symbolic assistance with young plant seeds to KWT Rimpahan Palorian Simarantihan which is supported by KKI Warsi as a companion to the Talang Mamak women's group.
