Tuesday, March 5 2024, Pundi Sumatra together with the Rantau Keloyang Community Health Center and Akbid Amanah Bungo held Aoh Bergesih Posyandu Cadre Optimization Training. This training aims to increase the capacity and skills of Posyandu cadres in accompanying and monitoring proper postpartum preparation and recovery for women in the Dwi Karya Bakti Pelepat Bungo Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community.
The training activity was attended by Posyandu Cadres of the SAD Dwi Karya Bakti community and Village Posyandu Cadres (Mekar Sari). The event began with a speech from the Pundi Sumatra Team as the organizer of the activity. Followed by remarks from the Head of the Rantau Keloyang Community Health Center who also officially opened the event.
The role of Posyandu cadres of the SAD community in Early Detection of High Risk Pregnant Women (Risti) was one of the main focuses in the presentation of material delivered by the Rantau Keloyang Community Health Center. This material highlights the steps that Posyandu cadres must take to detect potential risks to pregnant women early. Especially, those that require special attention.
In this material, the Rantau Keloyang Community Health Center explains in depth the symptoms that indicate a high risk for pregnant women. This includes medical parameters, behavior and health conditions that need to be carefully observed.
By understanding and being able to recognize Risti early, SAD community Posyandu cadres can provide appropriate assistance and referrals to pregnant women. Especially those who require additional treatment or further consultation with competent medical personnel.
The training also presented material about the role of SAD community Posyandu cadres in accompanying pregnant women in the preparatory and postnatal phases. This material was also delivered by Akbid Amanah Muaro Bungo.
The SAD community Posyandu cadres were given an in-depth understanding of the physical recovery of mothers after childbirth. Also, correct breastfeeding techniques, optimal baby care, postpartum care, and the importance of using contraception after giving birth.
“Actually, we need more information about proper postpartum care. In the community, we usually don't care about post-natal health because we are busy taking care of the baby and the house. Hopefully we will receive more frequent training and counseling on maternal and child health. "To be more optimal in caring for health," said Sri Bungo, a single mother and one of the Aoh Bergesih posyandu cadres.
This material is also designed comprehensively. To provide a holistic understanding to Posyandu cadres in the SAD community. So that they can provide optimal services and make a positive contribution to improving the health of mothers and babies in the community. With in-depth understanding, it is hoped that cadres can provide better assistance. Also, it helps in creating a healthy and safe environment for mother and baby.
The plan is that after being given several training sessions, these cadres are expected to be able to be actively involved in routine posyandu activities held by village midwives in the SAD Dwi Karya Bakti community.
"The hope is that in the future these people will become an extension of the community and village midwives. They can help provide direct reports regarding problem identification. "As well as helping midwives in treating mothers and children in their own communities," said Ulvi as the field facilitator.
