LBL Holds Internal Discussion Regarding Vibrant Facilitation Material

The Bumi Lestari Institute (LBL) held a joint learning regarding Vibrant Facilitation for all staff, Monday, November 6 2023 at the LBL office. This discussion was facilitated by Ferdi as the LBL representative. “I want to share this material with LBL staff. "Because yesterday I was an LBL representative when I took part in this training in Jakarta last October," explained Ferdi.

Ferdi explained that Vibran facilitation is the simplest facilitation technique. Can be applied by facilitators in conducting discussions or mentoring in the community. Specifically, Vibrant facilitation explains how to liven up the atmosphere in every meeting or training held by the institution. "Or more like a trend to make life livelier," he added.

This Vibrant Facilitation ensures that those who provide assistance consciously and wholeheartedly make it easier for a person or group to easily achieve their goals. And adhere to the basic values of participation.

The forms of Vibrant Facilitation are; Easy. This means that when the intervention process aims to bring about social change, it should make things easier for society, not make it more difficult. Participation, where social change occurs with community participation in an independent manner and in accordance with the needs of the community itself. The community does not need to be mobilized and lectured. Lastly, Human Greatness. Where the mentoring activities carried out should be able to stimulate and activate the functions of the right brain and left brain in a balanced way.

Ferdi also shared Vibrant Facilitation material that facilitators must pay attention to and know. Like the material, Assed Based Apros. A practical and concrete thinking process aimed at recognizing strengths in oneself and others. Namely, related to talent, skills, knowledge, proficiency, synergy and opportunities. Then, there is Appreciative Inquiry material. A person or group will increase their performance value if they are given appreciation for every work they do.

"As a facilitator, there are several values that are also a concern," said Ferdi. Namely Participation Value. The facilitator must ensure that participants who take part in each activity carried out have the opportunity to express their ideas and opinions without exception. The facilitator must also be able to make participants aware of each other's opinions. Also, every decision making must involve all participants. In order to develop decisions resulting from a joint decision process.

Ferdi also emphasized that facilitators must have basic attitudes in order to realize their values and roles in society. Ferdi said that a facilitator must have an interest in what he is doing. Because without interest, of course it will be very difficult for the facilitator to carry out his performance and pay attention.

Also, the facilitator must have an empathetic attitude to feel what others feel. You must also be able to have positive emotions when interacting with participants and the public. Finally, the facilitator must have trust in the group and be able to find creative ideas and make decisions based on collective values.

Naomi Tangguhana, one of the LBL staff, said that learning about Vibrant Facilitation really helped her improve her abilities as a facilitator. "That in carrying out the Facilitation process at the village level you must have the skills to liven up the atmosphere. "Also able to provide full space or full participation to the group being facilitated," he concluded.
