KWPS Eternal Red Lantern Holds Second RAT

The Lantern Merah Abadi Women's Resource Development Cooperative (KWPS) held its second Annual Member Meeting (RAT) on February 20 2024. This event was held at the Belimbing Village office, Kosambi District, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province. With the theme "Digital Transformation of Cooperatives to Accelerate Growth Towards Modern Cooperatives," the RAT was attended by 52 people, consisting of 40 women and 12 men.

Participants consist of members and cooperative cadres. Also, a number of invited guests who were influential at the local level such as; Mr. Endang, Secretary of Belimbing Village, Mr. Hanafi, Chairman of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES). There were also representatives from related agencies such as the Village Secretary for Cooperatives and MSMEs, and KEMITRAAN Indonesia.

In the RAT, several important points were discussed and mutually agreed upon. First, the KWPS Lantern Merah Abadi management submitted an accountability report on the cooperative's activities and finances for the 2023 financial year. The activity and financial report was ratified by signing the Minutes of Ratification (BAP).

The Cooperative's work plan for 2024 was also presented with full transparency and participation. The work plans submitted relate to membership, savings, loans, as well as capacity building plans for cooperative members.

Endang as Secretary of Belimbing Village, highlighted the important role of cooperatives in advancing the local community's economy. "The support of the village government and BUMDES is very important in maintaining the continuity and progress of this cooperative," said Endang.

Ratnawati, Secretary of the Tangerang Regency Cooperatives and UMKM Service, emphasized the importance of member discipline and commitment. Especially in maintaining cooperative financial stability and developing joint businesses.

KEMITRAAN Indonesia also highlights the role of cooperatives in reducing economic burdens and empowering women in community development. This is in line with the objectives of the ESTUNGKARA program.

The RAT is not only a forum for accountability. Also as a forum for building trust, gathering support, and formulating strategic steps for the progress of cooperatives. It is hoped that the Eternal Lampion Red Cooperative can continue to contribute to improving the welfare of its members and advancing the local economy. We hope that the success and enthusiasm that radiates from this RAT can become a solid foundation for the cooperative's future journey.
