Visit and Discussion of the Acting Regent and Chair of the Tebo PKK with Talang Mamak Women

The Acting Regent of Tebo, Mr. Aspan ST, along with the Head of the Tebo PKK, Mrs. Yanti Aspan, visited the Talang Mamak tribe community in Simarantihan Hamlet in Suo-suo Village, District. Sumay. This visit also involved OPDs such as the Social Service, Health Service, Population and Civil Registry Service, Village Community Empowerment Service, PUPR, Education Service, Kominfo, Industry and Trade, Satpol PP, BPBD, Kesbangpol, and the Food Crops, Horticulture and Food Security Service ( TPHKP).

The purpose of the visit of the Acting Regent of Tebo and his wife was to see the conditions and discuss directly with the Talang Mamak tribal community. On the sidelines of the event, Mrs. Yanti Aspan also approached women from the Talang Mamak tribe to communicate and chat on the sidelines of the activity. A smile could be seen on the faces of the Talang Mamak women because the number one person in Tebo could be present in their midst. Soni (25), a woman from Talang Mamak in Simarantihan, admitted that she was happy and happy because this was the first time the Regent and Head of the PKK had visited and seen their condition directly and provided health service assistance and several basic necessities which were distributed to the elderly, people with disabilities and orphans. During the visit, the Palorian Simarantihan Rimpahan Farming Women's Group received assistance from young plant seeds provided by KKI Warsi for garden plants and food.

Talang Mamak women hope that in the future access to basic services such as health, education and road access can be built in their area. In Simarantihan Hamlet there is currently an elementary school with 3 classrooms and 2 teaching staff. However, it is still not available for children who want to continue their education to junior secondary level. This obstacle makes parents choose not to continue their children's education because they have to pay more money and on the other hand they have to live separately from their parents. Especially for girls, they are too vulnerable to send their daughters to school outside the area where they live.

The Acting Regent of Tebo said that improvements to school facilities such as classrooms and additional teaching staff will be made for children who are going to continue their studies, so there will be remote classroom schools or one-roof schools.

"For health services, a village police will be created with medical personnel, namely midwives, which will be created in Simarantihan Hamlet. Not only that, it will also be proposed to release land for settlement of the Talang Mamak Tribe community which is located in the PT concession. ABT," he explained.

In this way, it is hoped that the people of Simarantihan Hamlet will, without exception, experience development.
