One thing that was quite interesting during the visit of the Regent of Bungo H. Mashuri, SP, ME to the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community in Dwi Karya Bakti, Pelepat District, Bungo Regency on Tuesday, 23 May 2023 was the culinary delights he ate with invitations from the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) Bungo Regency, namely various processed fish produced by the SAD Community. There is smoked fish curry combined with sweet potato shoots, smoked green chili fish sauce and grilled tilapia fish. That afternoon, the Regent, his entourage and all the SAD residents ate together and enjoyed the community's harvest.
The SAD community, through the Mina Hasop Eluk group, has succeeded in making processed smoked fish products for the last 2 years and is becoming well-known to the residents of Bungo City. Every car free day schedule, Mrs. Yutria Hanidarwati Ritonga or who is usually called Mrs. Ani (DISNAKAN Bungo), routinely orders smoked fish and helps with the promotion and marketing process of this product.
When the district to provincial level bazaar event took place, the Head of the District Livestock and Fisheries Service. Bungo, Quswen Ikmal, S.Pi never fails to include Mina Hasop products for marketing. The journey to develop fish growing groups and SAD MSMEs cannot be separated from his role in providing support to collaborate in empowering those locations. The three deep pool units at the SAD location are a form of local government support to encourage economic independence in the community.
This was agreed by Dewi Yunita - CEO of Pundi Sumatra, an NGO which from the start provided assistance and pioneered the economic business of growing fish and its processed products.
"Since 2015 the SAD community at that location has been learning to raise fish. Starting from the tarpaulin pool, fiber pool and ending in the deep pool. "The success of the "Mina Klukup" fish rearing group cannot be separated from the support and assistance of DISNAKKAN Bungo Regency," explained Dewi Yunita - CEO of Pundi Sumatra.
The Mina Hasop group itself is managed independently by young SAD cadres in Rombong. This product is available at the Bungo Regency Dekranasda and is routinely sold at several stalls in the cross area. Product orders can be made through the group administrator, simply by sending a Whatsapp message or via the Pundi Sumatra field assistant. This ordering system is carried out to ensure that smoked fish products are available in fresh and fresh condition.
According to Yori Sandi, coordinator of the Pundi Sumatra Program - this smoked fish can last up to 3 months as long as it is in a dry place and the packaging is not damaged. According to Yori, in the future the group plans to develop other types of processed products, such as frozen fish and fish crackers considering that fish raw materials are always abundant at harvest time. For this reason, the group still needs support in terms of increasing capacity and production equipment.
"Mina Hasop Eluk still needs support in the marketing, branding and capacity building aspects to be able to diversify the types of processed fish products and Pundi Sumatra will not be able to do this without support and cooperation with related parties. "This potential belongs to Bungo, hopefully the regional government is ready to take over and encourage these MSMEs to develop further," Dewi Yunita expressed her hopes.
