Tebo Regional Government (PEMDA) and the Indonesian Ombudsman collaborated in the "Official Gathering and Working in Villages (Prakarsa)" event. They held a Public Service Festival and audience with the Talang Mamak indigenous community in Karangdadi Village, Rimbo Ilir District, Tebo Regency, Jambi, Thursday, March 7 2024.
This activity is an important platform for the community, regional government and state institutions to interact directly with the community. The goal is to improve public services and listen to the aspirations and problems faced by the community.
The event was opened by Dadan from the Indonesian Ombudsman together with the Acting Regent of Tebo, H. Aspan. Followed by a special audience for the Talang Mamak community. This hearing was attended by around 70 people and was led directly by the Acting Regent of Tebo, H. Aspan. In his speech, the PJ Regent said that this activity had been carried out 9 times in previous villages. With the aim of providing public services and having direct dialogue with the community. The presence of the Indonesian Ombudsman at this event is also clear evidence of collaboration between regional governments and state institutions in improving the quality of public services.
PJ Regent of Tebo expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian Ombudsman for his presence. As well as to the Talang Mamak tribal community who also attended the event. Member of the Indonesian Ombudsman, Dadan S. Suharmawijaya, explained that the Indonesian Ombudsman is tasked with supervising public services so that they can be enjoyed by all people without exception.
Dadan also expressed his appreciation to the people of Talang Mamak who had fought hard to attend the event. Even though you have to walk 8 kilometers and continue the journey by vehicle for 3 hours.
In the audience session, representatives of the Talang Mamak tribe expressed various complaints and their needs regarding education, health, population and road access services. They face difficulties in managing population administration due to differences in customary and official processes, as well as the condition of schools that are far away and damaged. Apart from that, representatives of traditional institutions also expressed problems related to the management of their land which was disturbed by the company's presence.
In responding to this problem, Dadan Suharmawijaya from the Indonesian Ombudsman emphasized that his party would try to find a solution by involving relevant agencies at the center.
PJ Regent Tebo also conveyed the regional government's commitment to proposing the release of the area for settlement of the Talang Mamak tribe. As well as the allocation of funds for mapping the proposed area.
In closing, the PJ Regent of Tebo informed the public about the services provided at the Public Service Festival the following day, including health, population, education and other services. The Indonesian Ombudsman also opened a direct public service consultation and complaint post. This event is clear evidence of our joint commitment to improve public services and increase the welfare of the community, especially the Talang Mamak indigenous community.
