Pundi Sumatra held a simple bookkeeping administration training for the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) indigenous community. This training was conducted on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the SAD settlement area. This activity was attended by indigenous people from the UKM Mina Hasop Eluk group and students from Jambi University.
The training aims to enable members of the Mina Hasop Eluk group to understand good bookkeeping administration. Also the basic concept of simple cash flow and its application in bookkeeping administration.
“They are still weak in administration, recording expenses and income. "So this could be an obstacle to sharing the results," explained Azim as the Pundi Sumatra field facilitator.
In this training, Pundi Sumatra presents Mela Sari, a Lecturer from the Setih Setio Institute of Administration and Health (IAKKS), as an expert resource person. Mela Sari explains several important topics related to administrative bookkeeping. Such as, Cash Flow Book, Inventory Book, Purchase Book, Sales Book, Cost Book, Debt Book, and Receivable Book.
The cash flow book functions to show the sources and uses of funds. While the inventory book is used for information on stock owned. For the purchase and sales book is used to record all recent transactions. Finally, the accounts payable and receivable book will record the financial needs that must be paid.
“This training is not only about bookkeeping, but also about empowering the SAD community to be independent and prosperous. "Good administration is the foundation for the development of their economic group," said Mela Sari.
The presence of UNJA students in this event also enriched the discussion. Not only that, it provided a new perspective for students who attended the training, related to simple bookkeeping administration practices. The reason is, these students have never received any knowledge about simple bookkeeping.
"I am happy to join this training. As a provision if I want to open a small business. So I already know the basics of bookkeeping," said Nahda, one of the UNJA students who joined the training.
Simple bookkeeping administration training is expected to be the first step that brings positive changes to the SAD indigenous community. Especially to strengthen the development of their economic efforts.
