Health Services for Inner Tribe Children with UNJA and PMI Bungo Regency

The Anak Dalam Tribe (SAD) community in Dwi Karya Bakti Village, Pelepat District, Bungo Regency is one of the traditional communities that has access to health care. This road was successfully opened thanks to the collaboration that Pundi Sumatra carried out with various parties, especially the government. The push to open access to health stems from the problem of diseases that are often contracted by SAD residents.

"Usually they are easily attacked by diseases related to personal and environmental hygiene," said Dewi, CEO of Pundi Sumatra. The widespread spread of vomiting, skin diseases, and even tuberculosis has made Pundi Sumatra hold routine posyandu and health checks carried out in collaboration with community health centers or village midwives.

Apart from that, Pundi Sumatra together with the government are also encouraging free access to health by utilizing National Health Insurance (JKN) certificates for all SAD residents in the village.

Simultaneously with the routine health agenda, Pundi Sumatra with the support of the ESTUNGKARA program held blood group checks for the SAD community on Thursday, July 20 2023. Apart from involving PMI Bungo Regency, this activity was also accompanied by the handover of 149 JKN cards from BPJS Health Bungo, and a routine posyandu attended by 35 mothers and children under five. The posyandu activity process went well and was carried out by posyandu cadres from the SAD community with the help of posyandu cadre representatives from the village. During posyandu activities, children are also given complementary foods for breast milk (MPASI) in the form of biscuits, green bean porridge and boiled eggs.

On this occasion, the Chairperson of PMI Bungo Regency, Mrs. Dr. Hj. Verawaty Mashuri S.Pd.M.Pd. also participated in a series of activities. After participating in the core activities, Verawaty visited the Reading House, the fish rearing tarpaulin pond, and the smoked fish production house. Verawaty, who is also the Regent of Bungo Regency, provided support and suggestions for the progress of smoked fish production. He suggested that the "Mina Hasop Eluk" group coordinate with the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs (Disperindagkop) to get access to capital assistance and training in packaging smoked fish. Apart from that, he also expressed his appreciation for the educational assistance efforts in the SAD community reading house and provided support to convey the need for supporting books to the Regional Government through the Bungo Regional Library.

Not only that, in another visit, the Regent visited the MCK construction site which was a follow-up to the results of the FGD activities the previous month (21/05). He hopes that this public toilet will provide benefits and convenience for the community in meeting their sanitation needs. Hopefully with this facility, sanitation conditions in the area can be improved and have a positive impact on the health and welfare of the local community.

This activity received full support from various parties, including BPJS Health Bungo, Social Services, Health Services, Rantau Keloyang Community Health Center, and the UNJA Matching Fund Team. This synergy between the SAD community and various parties has succeeded in creating success in holding a series of activities that provide real benefits for the people of Bungo Regency.

In an interview with representatives of the SAD community, Pundi Sumatra (Yori Sandi) expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the support and active participation of all parties who had taken part in this activity. He also expressed his pride in the success of the event and hoped that this positive momentum could become a driving force for further progress in improving the welfare of the SAD community and surrounding communities.

This activity of providing JKN certificates, checking blood types, and routine posyandu has proven how important collaboration and cooperation from various parties is to achieve the common goal of improving the health and welfare of the community. Hopefully this success can be an inspiring example for other communities to actively participate in community development and empowerment.
