The Bara Indigenous Community received an order of 30 kg from BOSKOFIE in Makassar City

KWT Bara Grow Together then divided into groups of ant sugar cooks to fulfill the order. Even though there was a slight challenge within the group, regarding who among them would fulfill the request, fluid and collective discussions, and understanding of the group's bylaws, made the division of tasks among the KWT members run fairly.

Mrs. Nur Azizah, as the group secretary, then asked one of the Paebba (brown sugar tappers) to cook 20 liters of Nira, that same day. Mrs. Citra as group leader also agreed to produce 10 kilograms of sugar.

Unfortunately, after waiting several hours for the Nira water to boil, the Nira water solution failed to turn into brown sugar powder. Nira water solution which is not good enough, with the natural cooking process, is the main factor in the problem.

However, the KWT group is not weak in spirit. On the third try, for three consecutive days, the Nira water solution succeeded in turning into ant sugar. While facing this failure, the village facilitator team tried to find out through communicating with experts and also studying with KWT members from YouTube videos. As a result of gathering the lessons learned and mapping the problem, the village facilitator team concluded that indeed, in certain months, palm juice is rather difficult to produce into ant sugar and is more suitable for production into shell sugar.
