Nagekeo woven fabric is characterized by its black and yellow colors. The black color is usually taken from natural taro dye and the yellow color from mengkudu roots. The yellow color of this motif represents gold and the black is the earth. This fabric is made by mothers from the Rendu Butowe indigenous community in Malapoma hamlet, Central Flores.
