Wheelchair for Anggi, Children with Disabilities (SAD) Tribe

Advocacy efforts to access wheelchair assistance for Anggi Aprilia (4 years old) have been carried out by Pundi Sumatra since 2022. The little girl from the Asat and Bongkok couple has been paralyzed since the high fever that Anggi experienced at the beginning of 2021, causing several febrile seizures or seizures.

Anggi was born normal, cheerful and grew up healthy before experiencing the high fever. Anggi was treated for almost a month at the Hanafi Hospital, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province, with a diagnosis of a brain infection. While in the hospital, Anggi just lay there and her limbs slowly began to feel stiff and difficult to move. Since then, Anggi has been paralyzed and Bongkok has to carry the sweet girl wherever he goes.

Asat and Bongkok have tried all the traditional treatments to restore Anggi's condition, but until now these efforts have not shown any significant changes.
Apart from accompanying the routine therapy process for Anggi, Pundi Sumatra also carried out advocacy efforts in accessing equipment assistance for Mr. Asat's daughter.

Initially, the process of proposing assistance for this tool was submitted to the Bungo Regency Social Service, then continued with sending data to the Social Rehabilitation Center for Children who needed Special Protection "Alyatama" Jambi - UPT Ministry of Social Affairs in Jambi Province.

After waiting for almost 1 year, the proposal was finally realized on Tuesday, August 8 2023. The Bungo Regency Social Service was directly present to meet Anggi and her family, to hand over equipment in the form of a wheelchair. Bongkok was of course happy to receive this assistance. He felt happy because he could put Anggi in the wheelchair when he was active. Because all this time, Anggi could only lie down or had to be carried when occasionally Hunchback took her to play outside the house.

“We still hope that one day Anggi will recover. Thank you to Mr. Samo, the official mother who gave our child a wheelchair. So it's not difficult for us to carry him all the time, Anggi can sit and watch the activities around him!" said Bongkok after signing the handover document for the aid.
