As part of an effort to encourage the provision of inclusive services for the Dayak Ngaju indigenous community in the village, the Betang Borneo Indonesia Foundation (YBBI) has collaborated with the Jabiren Raya District Government. This collaboration aims to encourage easy access to basic population identity services for village communities, increase access to population identity services at the village level, and introduce and demonstrate the use of the IKD application to village communities.
The socialization activity was carried out in Pilang Village and Simpur Village on March 19-20, 2024. In this activity, the Jabiren Raya District Government delegated the District Digital Population Identity (IKD) operator as a facilitator. This socialization focused on the use of the IKD application and was attended by the people of Pilang Village and Simpur Village with assistance from the local Village Government.
"The IKD (Digital Population Identity) application is a system developed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). Kemendagri launched the IKD application as part of an effort to update and digitize the population administration system," explained the facilitator.
This IKD application aims to provide electronic population administration services. This application is also designed to replace or complement physical identities such as KTP (Resident Identity Card) with digital format, facilitate identity verification, and increase the efficiency of public services such as ease of digital access. Where users can access population identities directly through electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, or computers. Then data management which facilitates updating population data such as changes in address or marital status without having to visit the District or Regency government office.
In order to meet the needs of population services in Pilang Village and Simpur Village more effectively and efficiently, it is necessary to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement to increase the use of the application. These steps aim to ensure that the IKD application can be implemented effectively and inclusively, and provide maximum benefits to the community in Pilang Village and Simpur Village.
"Forward, YBBI and the Pulang Pisau Regency Government will work together intensively to encourage the use of the Digital Population Identity (IKD) application in Pilang Village and Simpur Village. This collaboration aims to provide inclusive basic population services for the people in both villages," said Sevana, YBBI Program Manager.
With good coordination, it is expected that the IKD application can be implemented effectively, so that all residents can access population services easily and evenly. The people of Pilang and Simpur Villages generally welcomed the IKD application positively. They feel that this application can speed up the administrative process and facilitate access to population services.
"This application is good, but it is possible that residents who do not have a cellphone will have difficulty using it," said one of the participants in the socialization.
The role of village and sub-district governments must continue to be encouraged to conduct data collection for people who do not have or have not updated population documents. People who do not understand need to be guided for equal access to population identity ownership, especially now if you want to make a KTP you must activate the IKD application.
"Therefore, the role of the village government is to facilitate the village community to activate the IKD which will later be directed back to the sub-district for the activation process through barcode scanning," added Sevana.
