On July 16, 2024, at the Tangerang Regency Health Office, the management and members of KWPS Lampion Merah held an important audience. This audience aims to introduce KWPS Lampion Merah and PPSW Jakarta to the Health Office. As well as, to obtain information on health programs and support for program implementation from the office.
The audience was received by Dr. Sri Indriyani, Head of Health Services. There were also Dr. Tri Retno Wulandari, Dr. Badriah, and Dr. Netti Novianti from the non-communicable diseases early detection section. Dr. Sri Indriyani opened the meeting by expressing her gratitude to PPSW Jakarta and KWPS Lampion Merah Abadi. She said that PPSW Jakarta and KWPS Lampion Merah Abadi are supporting organizations that connect the community with the Health Service program.
Dr. Farid explained that based on Tangerang Regency Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Tangerang Regency Regional Apparatus Organization, the Health Office is designated as one of the regional apparatuses that organizes services in the health sector. The Health Office has the main task of carrying out regional government affairs based on the principle of autonomy and assistance tasks in the health sector in accordance with the authority and policies of the Regional Government.
PPSW Jakarta has sent a letter of request for the implementation of the IVA test to the Health Office. The implementation of the IVA test will be assisted by the office in providing human resources (HR), while the cooperative prepares a closed and clean place. Dr. Tri Retno Wulandari explained that many people feel embarrassed to do the IVA test. However, if invited by the cooperative mothers, participation can increase. For the cost of the IVA test, you can refer to Regional Regulation No. 1 of 2021 concerning levies.
Dr. Tri Retno Wulandari explained that the IVA test is an easy and fast examination to detect cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is a cervical cancer that ranks second in the list of the most cancers in Indonesia. The IVA examination is carried out by dripping acetic acid on the surface of the cervix. If there are abnormal cells, white spots will appear indicating the presence of tumor cells or cancer cells.
IVA examination can only be done by women who have had sexual intercourse. Also, do not have sexual intercourse for 24 hours before the examination, and are not menstruating. This examination is recommended to be done periodically according to the doctor's advice. At least once every 3-5 years, especially for women with a family history of cervical cancer.
Mrs. Badriah and Mrs. Netti Novianti added that the Family Health Sector (Kesga) is trying to reduce maternal and child mortality rates by improving maternal health. Midwifery services are expected to ensure that every pregnancy ends with a safe and healthy mother and baby. There is a family companion program to monitor the health of pregnant women. As well as pregnant women's stalls in every health center to reduce infant mortality and stunting.
The Tangerang District Health Office is willing to collaborate with PPSW Jakarta and KWPS Lampion Merah to become resource persons in seminars on reproductive health and IVA test activities. The Health Office also provides recommendations to the Kosambi Health Center to collaborate with KWPS Lampion Merah in implementing the IVA test program.
This audience shows the commitment of KWPS Lampion Merah and PPSW Jakarta in improving women's reproductive health in Tangerang Regency. With the support of the Health Office, it is hoped that health programs, especially IVA tests, can provide real benefits to the community.
