Ragi Bay weaving is a typical Nagekeo weaving which is also one of the knowledge of Indigenous Women which continues to be passed down from generation to generation. Ragi Bay woven fabric has two distinctive colors, namely black and gold. The process of making Ragi Bay woven cloth, for sizes 3 – 4 meters, takes about one month depending on the difficulty of the motif or pattern being made. This requires persistence from Indigenous Women, who patiently always maintain and preserve this weaving culture.
This woven cloth is used in big events such as wedding/wedding gifts, traditional rituals, death ceremonies, traditional boxing traditions and various other events.
